New listing in Littleton's Historic Arapaho Hills

Those of you who know me well know that I am in love with mid-century modern architecture. I study all of the Denver area mid-century modern neighborhood and check out pretty much all the new MCM listings that hit the market, simply because I love seeing what people have done with them.  MCM homes have been a niche of mine, and I work with many buyers and sellers interested in MCM homes.  They aren't for everyone, but definitely are for those who want simplicity, art, history, and uniqueness in their home.  I'm excited to have just listed this spectacular updated Edward Hawkins home in Littleton's Arapaho Hills - which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.   Here is a sneak peak and a few feature photos. The link to the full description and listing information of this property at 5405 S. Lowell Bvd. is found at the bottom of this blog entry. Enjoy this MCM eye-candy!

The front of the home features a cinder block wall, which connects to neighboring houses on both sides.  also, the multi-colored stone wall siding is popular in many edward hawkins/clyde mannon homes here in arapaho hills as well as in englewood's arapaho acres.

What's interesting about this 2 bed/2 bath home is that most it's size in the neighborhood (as well as Arapaho Acres in Englewood - Arapaho Hills' sister neighborhood) have only 1 bathroom. This master suite is a rare bonus.  I obtained copies of the original architectural drawings of this home, as well as found the prints for this bathroom update, which appears to have been done just one year after the home was built in 1959.

Plenty of seating space in this living room.  The cinder block walls & wood ceilings are found not only in most edward hawkins homes, but also in many mid-century modern homes.
